Why Your Indoor Fan Periodically Turns On
Your home is equipped with a device referred to as an air cycler or ventilation controller. This system will independently turn your HVAC equipment fan on to circulate air in your home and introduce fresh air into your living spaces. This is an important enhancement to your system because properly ventilated air ensures better air quality, humidity, and temperature control, overall indoor comfort increases greatly in a well-ventilated space and is required to meet industry standards.
To get the most from your controller, it was programmed to deliver ventilation during preset times during daytime hours (8:00 am to 8:00 pm). Depending on the needs of your home your system could run the fan for up to 30 minutes per hour.
Your Las Vegas air conditioning and heating system was custom programmed to meet the needs of your home and it is important that its settings are not adjusted or that the device isn’t disabled.
If you sense that your system is not working correctly, check the following:
- Is the thermostat turned on to either heat or cool?
- Is the fan set to auto?
- Is the cooling or heating temperature set appropriately? (after you turn the thermostat on and off or adjust the setting you might have to wait 5 minutes for the thermostat to come back on)
- If the indoor temperature display is within 2 degrees of the temperature setting on the thermostat, your system is working correctly.
